Deborah Pierce Bonnell: Artist’s statement

My work in recent years has focused on the landscape.  I enjoy working in oil paint on canvas, as well as encaustic, watercolor and pastel.  Each type of media has its own delightful characteristics, and all seem well-suited to the study of nature.

The light, shapes and color of plants, trees, water, and sky, in close detail, or more traditional perspective are the things that delight me, and the source of my inspiration.
