Francine Funke Francine Funke has extensive expertise in many aspects of art, ranging from traditional painting, drawing and sculpture, to three dimensional pop-up design, to graphic design and illustration.
Her work has been recognized by the legendary, Gene Moore, Director of Tiffany and Company, who displayed her pop-up chair sculptures, called Dimensional Drawings, in all five Tiffany Windows on Fifth Avenue in New York City.
Ms. Funke specializes in the depiction of furniture and room settings. Her custom room portraits and "chair sculptures" are in many area collections, and she was recently commissioned to create two room portraits for the Phoenix Insurance Company's Cliff House Conference Center in Avon, Connecticut.
Francine Funke's artwork has been exhibited in many major museums nationwide, including the Museum of Art, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, The Parrish Art Museum in Southampton, NY, the Scottsdale Center for the Arts, and the Russell Senate Rotunda on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC where her installation, "Plumes, Kuwaiti Oil Field Fires," was sponsored by Senator Joseph Lieberman.
New York City gallery exhibitions include the Barbara Braathen Gallery, Vanderwoude Tananbaum Gallery, Phyllis Weil Gallery and Walter Wickisier Gallery. Her work has been reviewed in ARTnews, The Stamford Advocate and Greenwich Times, New York Magazine, and The New York Times.
In addition, Ms. Funke is a freelance artists for Chalk and Vermilion Fine Arts in Greenwich, CT, and is Contributing Artist for Greenwich Home Resource Guide. Currently, she is designing a logo and interior painting installation for the new offices of the Mosaic Direct Corporation in Norwalk, CT.
Francine Funke received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Cornell University, College of Art, Architecture and Planning, a Master of Fine Arts Degree for Hunter College in NYC, and is a computer trained Graphic Designer. She is listed in Who's Who of American Women.
